That’s why today, so many woman are in love with their closets! Why is that after a bad breakup, a 9 to 5, or that never ending to do list, we reach out to materials for guidance? Whether we’re adding a new garment to our collection or a pair of earrings to our jewelry box, the idea makes us feel “re-invented.”

Without speaking verbally, textures, colors, patterns and materials have a way of communicating with us. Needless to say, our way of responding is usually through our wallets. But who’s to say all women are materialistic? Our appetites for materials just seem to vary. Some of today’s men find themselves engaging in this habit as well. While some women are using yoga as their escape, others find the mall to be their closest get away. Everyone has a way of venting; and shopping has just become one of those outlets
Sometimes purchasing the right pair of shoes can lead us in all the right directions,” say’s Penn State student Bianca Francis. “Everyone has a different outlook on shopping, but it’s the one thing I do that allows me to be in control.”

Let’s agree to disagree! Shopping can easily become an addiction. The more we buy, the happier we are. Besides, what’s more satisfying than the reward that you can give yourself? Keep in mind that this won’t solve our boyfriend or work related issues, but it does serve as a helping factor; allowing the mind to stimulate while putting stress at ease. This is why it’s encouraged to do so responsibly.

The great thing about it is that it doesn’t have to be done alone. Shopping is known to stir up communication, so possibly bring a friend, or two. So women, let’s continue to love our closets but most importantly ourselves
